Brought up at ‘the home of golf’, he travels the world capturing the beauty and drama of some of golf’s most iconic courses. In 2013, he became the first commissioned photographer to shoot Prestwick Golf Club in its 162-year history. In 2014, he undertook an extensive photography project in New Zealand and in 2015 he was commissioned by hotel giant Marriott to photograph its UK golf properties. Since then, he’s photographed Gleneagles, Muirfield and Golf Du Medoc, as well as Royal Troon, Loch Lomond Golf Club and Dumbarnie Links. Most recently he was commissioned by St Andrews Links Trust and Carnoustie Golf Links to photograph multiple golf courses and facilities, as well as creating lifestyle and product imagery. Mark’s work appears in various magazines including Golf World, Today’s Golfer, Golf Illustrated and, of course, Golf Course Architecture. In 2023, he was commissioned by Links Magazine to photograph some of the best golf courses in Italy ahead of the Ryder Cup. In 2024, he did something similar in Northern Ireland in advance of The Open (the front cover of GCA Green Pages 2025 is a good example). His overriding aim is to create content that captures the essence of the course and excites both the client and the viewer. The result is imagery that is both compelling and effective, with clients describing his work as “outstanding”, “dramatic” and “inspirational”.
